Website: Classics for Kids

Classics for Kids is an extensive website that focuses on teaching kids about famous composers in fun ways.

Highlights:

• On the Radio features a new 5-10 minute radio show each week.  A composer is chosen every month and each week a new show about that composer is posted, along with listening links for his music, an activity sheet, and quizzes that go with the show. 
• Composers section has links to information and podcasts about famous composers, indexed by name, time period, and country.  It also has an interactive timeline that lets you scroll through composer history.
• Games section has animated games about composers, rhythm, notes, and composing your own music
• More About Music section has listening links, a music dictionary, instrument information, and interviews with people in different musical careers.

Weaknesses:

• Radio programs can only be listened to (no print version is available for reading)
• Occasionally music files are in a format that doesn’t work with all computers
