About Me
Who is Michelle Baylor?
I began my music education with Suzuki piano lessons at the age of 5. I continued to study piano through high school graduation, also adding violin and viola during junior high and high school. My college degree is in deaf education with an emphasis in elementary education. I began teaching music in 2002, attended my first Suzuki teacher training in 2009, and was certified to teach Suzuki Book 2 in 2010. I currently teach both piano and violin students from my home, using principles from the Suzuki Method as a foundation for a customized approach to music learning.
My goal for students is that they would acquire music appreciation, performance and reading skills in a way that encourages a love of music, growing self-discipline, and an awareness of the variety of talents God has given them.
I am happily married to Than and have a son, Nathan, and a daughter, Katya. Besides musical activities, I also enjoy reading, crocheting, cooking, and drinking tea.
I hope that my relationship with each family is one of fun, learning, challenge, success, honesty, and encouragement. I look forward to answering your questions, sharing new ideas, and learning from you as you learn from me.
